Wedding in the air?
Well, we survived our weekend of camping at Cedar Breaks in Georgetown. We had a really good time. Our "roughing it" consisted of eating a meal at the Panda Express close to our campground and going to Austin Park and Pizza with the Junior High band. (arcade, putt-putt, go cars, train, rock climbing, laser tag, and all you can eat pizza!) We did have to pack up in the rain but had a great time in general. As you can see the girls loved the outdoors and the weather had some beautiful moments. (Notice the sweatshirts in April in Texas... cool, huh?)
I also finally included a few bluebonnet pics. We got some really good ones. I love that first one up there. I know it is not "studio perfect" but I think you can really see how much they love each other. They really do laugh together a lot. Bailee adores her little sister for the most part and Leah really admires Bailee... most of the time. All in all very cool.
I will preface the next part by saying saying that Leah has been watching The Little Mermaid a lot lately. She told me yesterday that she would be marrying Mike on Saturday. (the HS Band director that frequents our house) Here are the plans:
1. She will wear a white dress and he will wear a nice suit.
2. Dawson and Drew and Matt will be invited. Dawson and LEah will dance the tango. Drew will do a bootie dance and Matt will hold Leah's hand. Aunt ALeesa will be there.
3. There will be a cake but Drew will not have cake because it has milk in it and milk makes Drew sick.
4. There will be flowers and fireworks.
5. She will kiss Mike on the lips with her eyes closed!
6. They will have chicken nuggets from McDonalds and cherry sprite.
I would love to say I made this up, but this was her, not me!
I also am a little scared.... if this is her vision as a 3 year old, what are we going to have to really pay for someday? :)
Hope all is well,
K

still here
Just wanted to drop a note and let everyone know that i have not left the blog world. I do have some pictures to post but I don't have time now.
Life is fine. It seems like it should be getting less busy, but so far, it has been a fast ride these past few weeks.
Oh well. Hope you are well.

Bugs
Well, we have moved from poop to bugs. LOL I just wanted to tell you that we are in the midst of the "First Grade Insect Project". Bailee has to collect 10 different kinds of bugs and put them on a styrafoam board. She then has to label them. We first get to put them in a jar with an alcohol-soaked cotton ball so that the bugs will be ready for the board. Those of you that know me well, know that this will NOT be my favorite project. I am hoping she and her daddy get a good start on it this weekend when we go camping.
We had a good weekend. Lots going on with the end of the year activities for band, but it's all good. On Sunday we went and threw a little disc golf at the park and had a brownie meeting.
Ok, short and sweet today, but I will try to get some pics or something exciting up here soon.
Hope you are well.

Poop Happens
**Attention to my weak-stomached readers: the blue paragraph really is about poop!
First of all... the good news! After 3 days of watching Leah miserably try to exist and not poop...last night she did it! She finally pooped in the potty. I will spare you the details... but let's just say it would rival most! I know some of you are probably disgusted that I am writing about this, but it has been a real ordeal. Here's what happens: Leah doesn't want to poop because she is afraid it will hurt. She holds it for as long as possible and then it does start to hurt so she won't poop. She then gets little drops of poop in her bottom, panties, or pull-up making her bottom sore from me wiping it out all of the time. BUT finally, last night it happened! I am hoping we can sit down sometime again today and try to poop again without freaking her out. We've tried the extra juice, raisins, etc and one time even gave her a bit of her baby laxative, but any more suggestions would be good.
Ok, enough poop. We've had a busy week since the last time I wrote. We took some pictures in a REALLY small patch of bluebonnets. They turned out pretty cute. I will post pics as soon as Eric brings the camera home from school. We also had Bailee's birthday party. It was a cooking party where they made aprons, decorated cakes, and made their own English muffin pizzas. We even had a cookie cake (that I MADE!) that looked like a pepperoni pizza. It was a really cute party and I really like Bailee's friends. My parents and my brother's family were able to come to so it was nice to see them. The High School bands went to UIL contest and got sweepstakes. Eric's band played really well and I was pretty darn proud of that clarinet section! They had some tough stuff and did awesome. I didnt hear the other band, but I am sure they were terrific. The weather here has been beautiful. We even have had some mornings where we wake up to 38 degree weather. We have had several meals outside and are even planning to cook hamburgers out tonight and eating outside. I know the hot Texas weather will come soon, so we are soaking in this beautiful, low humidity stuff while we can. Let's see... do I have anything else to ramble about? Umm... it really does seem like there was something else. Oh! Leah had her musical for school: "Take a Ride on A Silly Train". It was really cute. Leah sang most of the time and had a blast. The other kids did a terrific job too. I am thankful for the teachers who taught 2 and 3 year olds and first graders how to get on stage and shine. I know it was nerve wracking for them and I know that some kids were scared or didn't sing or whatever, but it is so cool that at such a young age, those kids had a chance to feel special and perform. Leah was grinning from ear to ear when we picked her up after the show. I will have a dvd if anyone wants to see it! :)
Ok, that was one long blog. If you are still reading, you are a patient soul! Pictures coming soon.
Hope you are well,

For Bailee
Well, this past Sunday, Bailee turned 7! I don't know who felt older... her or me!! We had a really good weekend.
On Friday, we went to Mamas in Pajamas for her Girl Scout troop. We had a really good time and we won the Mother/Daughter Talent show along with her friend Mary Caroline and her mom, Jill. It was very cute to watch the girls go and accept their High School Musical Necklaces. On Saturday, the girls hung out with Daddy (who had been gone since Wednesday judging) and I went to go see Seussical Jr. It was an AMAZING production put on on by the Broadway Kids.
Sunday was Bailee's BIG DAY! She got homemade biscuit donuts for breakfast and Chicken Tenders for lunch. She chose to go out to a friend's ranch and feed cows for her birthday! It was a very fun family day and the weather was unreal. We saw cows (of course!), deer, a blue heron, some fish, and some wild boar!! Bailee hand-fed a big ol' cow named Taffy, but Leah was much happier just sitting on her dad's shoulders. We came home and had spaghetti and birthday cake and opened a few gifts. It was really nice. I can't believe the little 5 pound ball that I brought home from the hospital is seven years old. She is a kind, sweet girl and I am proud of her. Yes, she does have her moments. (Hair brushing is no fun!) BUT, I am so proud of that little girl. I am not sure what she will be when she grows up or what things are in store, but she is turning out to be a caring, insightful young person!
Enjoy the pics. Some are of birthday time, and there is one of a younger Bailee!
Hope all is well... more soon.

Waiting
Ok, so this is really hard to see. I will try to get a better picture, but I don't want to get to close because I don't want to scare her off. For the 2nd year in a row, we have a momma bird in our hanging plant. Last year we got to see the baby birds be born and fly off. It was really cool. Now we are waiting to see what happens. She sits there all day... except when my girls forget to be quiet on the back porch! She fussed at Eric the other day when he went out to sweep but I threw some bread crumbs out there to make friends again. :) I don't like to get close because I have visions of her sweeping off of her nest to protect her babies and end up pecking at my head and yanking out my hair!
Everyone is good. Hope you are well!
